Birthday Staycaytion at W Hotel Sentosa

Looks like this epidemic is here to stay. Without options to travel overseas, staycations might be the next best option. I remembered last year when staycations were just opening up, we had a fabulous one at Equarius Hotel. Therefore when I asked Lady M again, she wanted somewhere away from the city. An island getaway. And where else better than our Sentosa?

W Hotel was our choice when it comes to a real getaway. Located at the luxurious Sentosa Cove area, it has all you need to be secluded. The only nearby attraction at Quayside Isle, which is filled with restaurants, bars, and even a supermarket. However, it's just perfect for a 2D1N staycation, especially with a toddler.

Our Spectacular Room

Thanks to W Hotel, we got a complimentary upgrade from their Wonderful Room (tbh which is already quite wonderful) to a Spectacular Room! It's about 44 sqm and packed with a king bed, it's perfect for plenty of sleeping space and for our Olivia to roll around.

We were pleasantly surprised with their complimentary dessert-tea set, and also a cake for Lady M too! The macarons and chocolate mousse (with a touch of alcohol) are my absolute favorites! Definitely a booster before we head to their signature pool.

Their toilet is beautiful, spacious, and probably everything you need is there. From a bathtub to a shower room, to all the basic necessities.

The best thing of the Spectacular Room is none other than its marina view. Our room was located at level 3, so we have a pretty good balcony view of the bay, people jogging, walking their dogs, working on their multi-million yachts. It's peaceful throughout the day, so you don't have to worry about dogs barking and yachts honking (do they?).
Signature WET Pool

One of the highlights of this stay is their WET pool, which we visited on both days. Here's why: It's opened 24/7 and is perfect to dip into in the hot weather. However, during this period, bookings during peak hours are required. They come in 2-hour blocks so you have plenty of time to swim around. Bring your own floats, but if you didn't, you could choose to get some really fancy ones (think, unicorns!) at the pool area itself!

While you're there, do not miss out their signature "W" sign, just beside the waterslide. I mean, you couldn't possibly missed it. Take a photo there to mark your stay!

In-room Dining

Since our vaccination status isn't updated yet (yes, Sinovac..), we had to dine in-room. But with our marina view, we ain't complaining. Lazing our evening away at the balcony, watching our imaginary yacht..

We had our dinner as part of the KLOOK package we booked. Some options are inclusive, whereas for the others (like the lobster bisque and date pudding), you would need to top-up. I had the roasted chicken while Lady M got the Hokkien Mee (prawn noodles). Unlike most hotel restaurant dinners, their portions are really impressive, without lacking in standards.

The sun goes down

We found out the crib was too deep and small for Olivia, so we requested for a side bed instead. Don't worry, there's still lots of space to move around! Psst love birds, you can change the light colours to match your mood (comes in warm orange and purple).

We took a leisure walk to Quayside Isle after dinner. Like what I said, there are restaurants and bars here, so you could also opt for food delivery, or even stop by one of the bars to spend the night away. That is, if you do not have a screaming toddler.

Good morning!

If you have been following my blog, you would know that there isn't once that Olivia slept well during our staycations. And you know what? She finally did. Despite waking up twice before midnight, she pretty much slept through the whole night. Recharged, let our breakfast begin!

We opted for a variety, so we had a western breakfast, pancakes, chicken congee, a beautiful bread basket, fruits, and drinks. These were just nice to fill us up before we head into the pool again.

Farewell W Hotel

They had an express checkout option, so you just had to drop in a form with your key cards at a designated spot. If there's one thing to improve on, it would be their service speed. Calls to the service desk usually takes about 1-2 minutes of ringing before someone picks up. And items take approximately 30 minutes to arrive to your room. Other than that, W Hotel was a wonderful and welcoming staycay, perfect (especially for couples) if you want to bask in the luxury of Sentosa Cove.
