Provision Shop @ Everton Road, Singapore

We were on a cafe-hopping trip at Everton Park, where dozens of hidden gems reside, when we dropped by Provision Shop, a charming and humble cafe, furnished with trendy wooden furniture amidst a tinge of nostalgia - even the name of the cafe struck me with sentiments from my childhood days. They even used the milo tin for tips!

Movie Review - I Fine, Thank You, Love you

It's the end of my examinations, and that means work, work, and work to pay off my tuition fees. Ah, what a bother, but I will promise to update my beloved blog at least once a week now. Recently, I managed to watch the latest Thai romance-comedy on screen, named none other than "I Fine, Thank you, Love you" (pronounced with a Thai accent).

Nomsaurus gave I Fine, Thank You, Love you

This review MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.

Directed by Mez Tharaton, this movie is brilliant in many ways. It's hilarious, witty, yet encompasses a touching side of the story. Featuring Ice Preechaya Pongthananikorn, who starred in the highly-rated thai comedy - ATM, she played as Pleng, a English tutor for Gym (played by Sunny Suwanmethanon)'s ex-girlfriend Kaya (played by AV actress - Sora Aoi). When Kaya left Thailand to work in the United States, Gym wishes to join her there and reconcile with her, but first, he has to learn English from scratch. Pleng was blamed for Kaya's succession, and was coerced to tutor Gym.

Brotzeit @ Vivocity, Singapore

Happy new year, readers! It's been almost three weeks into the brand new year, yet I am still found myself half buried in my examinations. Nevertheless, here's one for any pork knuckle lover!

Brotzeit has been in Singapore for awhile, but only recently found myself having my virgin experience at this German bar and restaurant - which never fails to boast a snaking, long queue during dinner times. Now, I haven't been to the other outlets, but the Vivocity branch has a good combination of service and ambience amidst its "chillaxing" (if there's such a word) al-fresco dining.

Do you know that the expression "Brotzeit" translated to English is actually "bread-time"? What's a typical German meal without authentic Germany-imported alcohol? Choose among a wide range of alcoholic beverages, such as lager and weissbier, to accompany the traditional Bavarian cuisine, infused with a touch of modern Germany.

Wrapping Up 2014

In a moment's time, the year of 2014 will soon come to a pass, while 2015 takes the reign, yet for another brand new year. Compared to last year, 2014 was rather uneventful for myself, partially because I have my heads buried in books and work, as well as commitments in any other things. Nevertheless, this year has brought great joy, and a tinge of depressing moments - some of which I have overcame with God's glory, yet there are some that are still (hopefully) in the process of resolution.

Here are some honourable mentions of 2014!

December Scribbles

This post is gif-heavy, and when I meant it's heavy, it's really heavy. What am I talking about.

First of all,

So, the festive season has arrived, yet in a blink in an eye. While people from all walks of life are diving into shopping malls to get their last-minute Christmas shopping done and indulging in festive food, some university students  (referring to yours truly) are buried in two-meter-tall examination notes, textbooks, and what's not, and indulging in assignments, from psychopathology to the nooks and crannies of a brain. Nevertheless, December is a month that everyone is waiting for, well simply because..

Artistry @ Jalan Pinang, Singapore

Hello hungry people! Sorry for the lack of updates these few weeks as university and work are really time-consuming, and I had to set my priorities right. So, anyway Christmas is once again around the corner, and I will most probably do up a Christmasy post soon. Please look forward to it!

Nestled along Jalan Pinang, a quiet lane tucked away in the midst of Kampong Glam, Artistry is a cafe, which specialises in art and food. As one could have expected, the decor was cozy, with a great creativity amidst the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Artistry serves as a platform for art-lovers, featuring live bands and an art gallery with paintings which are up for sale.
